Decorative Objects

Decorative objects are objects that don't have much use in the game. Most of them are used only to make prison and some areas of prison (such as rooms) look better, more attractive and to increase overall prison valuation.

$100 10 HP 1x1 Every Room, Showers and Cells Bathroom Sink is a decorative object that's usually placed in the shower room, although it can be placed anywhere you like. Prisoners can use it to satisfy a little bit their hygiene need.

Blackboard
$50 30 HP 2x1 Classroom Blackboard improves classroom grade by one but it's not required for the room to be functional.

$50 1 HP 1x1 Anywhere A buoy is a decorative, floating device that can be installed on water to mark the entrance to a channel, dock, a nearby landfall or warn boats about approaching dangerous area which could be cliffs.

$50 10 HP 1x1 Anywhere outdoor Bush is a decorative objects that can be planted anywhere outdoor. Unlike the trees, bush is planted by workers, is already fully grown and can't be chopped down for logs or anything else.

$50 10 HP 1x1 Cells "A creative way for prisoners to express how they feel without stabbing each other." Canvas and paints is a decorative object that can be placed in prisoner's cell to improve it's grade by 1.

$100 10 HP 1x1 Every Room Chest of Drawers is a decorative object that looks great in the offices. It does not have any function but prisoners will use it to stash contraband if you place it in their cells.

$30 10 HP 1x1 Every Room, Offices Coat Stand is a decorative object that looks great when placed in the offices. Doesn't have any function.

$50 1 HP 1x1 Anywhere Deck chair is an object exclusive to Island Bound DLC that have the same function as a normal chair. It's more comfy which makes it cater to the comfort need of person sitting on it.

$20 10 HP 1x1 Anywhere Dog Bowl holds food and water for tired K-9 dogs and slightly increases their stamina. It may be worth placing bowls in areas where dogs are patrolling very often.

$10 10 HP 1x1 Anywhere Door Mat is a decorative object that's usually placed by the entrances to the buildings and doorways. In Prison Architect it does not have any function.
Fan.png

$30 10 HP 1x1 Every Room Old-fashioned standing fan, which helps to cool the air around it (in radius of 3 squares) by 2.

Fan improves the grading of the canteen, dormitory and gymnasium by 1.

$50 10 HP 1x1 Every Room, Showers and Cells Hand Dryer is a decorative object that's usually placed in the shower room and kitchen, although it can be placed anywhere you like. Prisoners will occasionally use it to satisfy their hygiene need a little bit.

$50 10 HP 1x1 Every Room Lamp is a decorative object that generates light, similarly to normal Light or any lamp but in a smaller radius. Looks great in offices but can be used anywhere.

Plants are decorative objects that can be placed anywhere you like to make your prison look nicer. There are two types of plants:

Signs
$10 10 HP 1x1 Every Room Signs are a decorative objects that can be put on the walls, similar way as windows. There are 43 types of signs you can use, such as

Sink and Mirror
$100 10 HP 1x1 Cells, Dormitories Sink and mirror requires a water connection and must be placed on the wall, the same way as windows and signs.


Sink and mirror caters to prisoners hygiene need, improves cell and dormitory grading by 1.

$5 - $10 1 HP 1x1 Anywhere Stepping stones come in 4 variants:
  • Rocks,
  • Ice,
  • Lily pad
  • and Pallet.

Stepping Stones can be installed only on water tiles and be used as a form of bridge that allows staff and prisoners to walk on them with reduced speed. All the types of stepping stones cost 5$ except the pallet which is 10$ for apiece.

$50 10 HP 1x1 Anywhere outdoor Tyre Stack is a decorative object that has only one function which is blocking the movement. Can be used to create some sort of barricade or placed as decoration.

$1000 10 HP 1x1 Anywhere A tall stone statue that can be placed to signify the warden's rule over the prison. Too many of these can make inmates feel suppressed as it increases suppression by small amount.

$250 1 HP 1x1 Canteen, Classroom, Dormitory, Gymnasium Can be placed in various rooms to increase their grade by 1.

$150 1 HP 1x1 Anywhere Windsock is used to tell wind speed and the direction of the wind speed itself. In Prison Architect it's just a decorative object that can be placed anywhere but looks great around the helipads.
