Currently there is no way to edit the settings for PA within the game. We had to cut some corners to make that IGF deadline!

To edit the settings for the game you need to edit the preferences.txt file directly. The easiest way to find this is to run the game and click on "Open Save Folder" from the main menu. This will open the location of your preferences file, your debug log, and your save games.

The typical location of your preferences file will be:

On Windows 7 or Vista: c:\users\your-username\appdata\local\introversion\prison architect\

On windows XP: c:\documents and settings\your-username\local settings\application data\introversion\prison architect\

On Mac OS X: ~/Library/Application Support/Prison Architect (in Finder press Command + Shift + G and paste that in)


Setting a screen resolution

Edit the values for ScreenW, ScreenH and ScreenWindowed. Eg:

ScreenW 1280

ScreenH 1024

ScreenWindowed true

Note : You can set the width and height to 0 to make PA run fullscreen at your native resolution.


Antialiasing and supersampling

There are two alternative ways to improve the graphics filtering in Prison Architect.

Antialiasing

PA looks best with FSAA turned on. Enable this with the option "ScreenMultiSampled true". This requires a modern gfx card with multisampled framebuffer support. Alternatively, you can enable FSAA by opening your graphics preferences (nvidia or radeon etc) and setting anti-aliasing to be on for all games.

Note : One some systems this option actually makes the game look much worse, with strong vertical and horizontal glitch lines appearing on the grid of the world. On NVidia systems you can solve this by setting Alpha channel supersampling to the max value.


Supersampling

Enable this with "ScreenSuperSampled true". This runs the game at 2x the resolution of your game window. This produces wonderfully filtered graphics but can tax graphics cards heavily.
