Notes and Tips

Metal Detectors should be placed along high trafficked areas -- like at the entrance of a cell block or a Canteen. The orientation of the detectors does not matter nor does the direction the prisoner's of travel. I.e., as long as a prisoner passes through the detector, the prisoner will be scanned. Prisoners will try to avoid metal detectors by taking other paths. If they know they have to pass through a metal detector then they are less likely to steal an item ( Alpha 12 ).

As of Alpha 12, Metal Detectors will deactivate for 3 seconds after detecting something. They also incorrectly detect something a small percentage of the time, resulting in unnecessary searches.

If water comes into contact with metal detectors, they will break while electrocuting and thus killing anyone in the immediate vicinity, so exercise caution when placing them near showers or breakable water fixtures.

Potential Bugs

(Alpha 13) Metal Detectors appear to incorrectly detect something most of the time. This will need confirmation/editing by others who may experience the same thing.
